The Power of Comunidad: How La Poderosa Conference Shaped my Journey

Two years ago, I was in the very early days of my entrepreneurial journey. Nervously leading my first-ever Inner Mija DIY craft workshops, wondering if I was doing enough, being enough, becoming enough.

Then, something incredible happened.

I was nominated for the inaugural Poderosa of the Year Award and to my surprise, I won.

I still remember standing there, overwhelmed with emotion. That award wasn’t just a shiny title; it was validation. It was my community telling me, “We see you. What you’re doing matters.” It gave me the courage to believe in myself as a Poderosa and a Healing Arts + Crafts Practitioner of safe spaces where mujeres feel seen, supported and heal in comunidad.

Brianna, the founder of La Poderosa Conference, was the one who gave me the opportunity to facilitate my very first DIY craft workshop. She believed in me before Inner Mija had a logo, before I had a product line, before I knew where this journey would take me.

This space, this community, this conference has been foundational to my growth. It gifted me the support of mujeres who uplift, root for, and walk beside each other.

That’s why it feels so powerful and full-circle to be launching Inner Mija’s very first product line at La Poderosa Conference. This is more than a pop-up for me. It’s a homecoming, a celebration, and a thank you to la comunidad that helped me bloom. 💐
